I grab a book of poetry
I have to wonder why
how words that touch so many hearts
come from the the ones outside

Lennon's future paisley dream
Lizard king's solemn gaze
Dylan's twisted meaning rhymes
Hendrix purple haze

                  can always see the day
                  dreamers in the night
                  when the world sees only grey
                  dreamers in the night
                  why do they go away
                  dreamers in the night
                  one day they all will stay

Allegory skyline
alabaster sky
fire burning in her heart
turquoise in her eyes

tear-stained wing butterfly
now you fly at night
you'll find the strength to sail again
by the morning light

the raven dances in his cage
for only he will know
why the ones that always look ahead
and where they all will go
