Wildwood Pier

© 2009 Mark Cote

1. when the sun melts down and doesn't make a sound
and the crickets start to sing
and the songs that they play, at the end of the day
    with the joy it brings
cookie cutter people in their cookie cutter world
    they don't hear a thing
but rattle the gravel road, and come along with me

(chorus) dancing at the Wildwood pier
                 dancing here
                Wildwood pier

2. the word is on the street to people tappin' their feet
and a song in their soul
it helps them to drive, and it helps them survive
in a world that's so cold
those with closed eyes will never fly
or see the love that they hold
down at the edge of town, there's a place for you and me
(chorus)

3. the people that you meet, swaying to the beat
well they know where it's at
every one is your friend, you can always depend
    they'll keep coming back
    they'll keep coming back
(chorus)
